There are a number of ways to advertise for
free on the Internet but not all of them are worth your while:
Writing articles - not only a great
way to get free advertising but also a great way to build your
expert reputation, plant links back to your site, attract subscribers
and add keyword rich content to your web site. Read my article,
How To Write Articles,
to learn more.
Free Ezine ads - some ezines accept
free ads from their readers. I have personally never tried this
but I know of at least one person who built his entire business
using this method and never once paid for advertising. He has
written a good article about it which you can read here
Reciprocal link exchange - exchanging
links with other sites relevant to your niche has become a very
powerful way of increasing your search engine rankings and bring
traffic to your site directly through the link. Do it by hand
and it will eat up your time but you should do it if you are counting
on the search engines. Read my article, Reciprocal
Link Exchange, to learn how to do it and the software
I use to save hundreds of hours.
Free banner exchange - choose the
right exchange and it could work well for you. Choose the wrong
one and you will do little more than waste your time. Read my
article, Best Banner
Exchange, or go straight to the only banner exchange
I recommend by clicking the small banner below.
Free traffic exchange - personally
I have already wasted to much of my time on traffic exchanges.
Read my article,
Best Traffic Exchange, or go straight to the only free
traffic exchange that is worth belonging to here.

FFA Classifieds - DO
NOT USE THESE. Trust me, they are not worth the effort
and you will never find a serious or successful marketer using
them because they don't work, and that includes owning them.
TIP 1: Why
not get yourself some business cards with your business
name and web site address on it. Stick them on community
noticeboards, give them to your friends, put one in the
envelope when you pay your bills.
Before you say "I don't want
to pay for that" check out Vistaprint.com
where you can order 250 business cards for FREE. Mine
arrived today and I am glad to say they look great. On
the back there is a single line of text saying you can
get free business cards from Vistaprint but besides that
they look quite professional.
TIP 2: a lot of Internet
marketing gimmicks with "Free" in the headline
are time-wasters. How do I know? I tried them most of
them :-(
I could be a couple of months ahead of where I am now
if someone had told me that from the beginning. Read my
articles on time-wasters to avoid:
