5 Quick SEO Tips For Getting More Visitors From the Search Engines That You Can Implement Right Now 

Making money on the Internet is often the final step in a chain of events that began with a visitor doing a keyword search in a search engine. So its no wonder we all care so much about getting visitors. But what can we do to get more visitors without spending money or redesigning our site? 

Here’s 5 quick tips you can begin implementing straight away: 

  1. Make sure the html title of every page is the first line of code beneath the <head> tag. Search engines like this but it only helps of course if you have used keyword rich titles.
     
  1. Make sure your titles are keyword rich. You should already be using http://www.wordtracker.com to search for keywords. The keywords you use should also be in the html title (keep in mind its also what people will see in the search engine results) and in the URL.
     
  1. Add reciprocal links. One link a day will soon add up. They can be an excellent source of visitors and the search engines will like it. Keep your linking focused to sites with similar themes to your own.
     
  1. Place keywords in the ALT tag for your pictures. Every page should have an image and that image should have an ALT tag rich in keywords.
    Example: <img border="0" src="filename/image.jpg" ALT="Keyword rich sentence here." width="127" height="60”>
     (Keep in mind this is what people will see if they hold the cursor over an image or surf with turned graphics off).
     
  1. Submit your site to http://www.dmoz.com Very important directory. Google as well as many other search engines get their results from here.
     
  1. I know I said 5 tips but I like to overdeliver : )  My last tip is to keep searching for new ways to improve your search engine ranking. This tip sounds like a bit of a cop out but it is the best advice I can give and more valuable than the previous 5 combined. Try the forum at http://www.webmasterworld.com or the newsletter at http://www.highrankings.com/advisor.htm but don't stop there.

When I began building my very first site, www.home-gym-review.com, I had no idea about anything, I didn’t even know what search engine optimization meant. But through my own determination to do it right, I now have the 1st and 2nd ranking for my preferred keyword on Google for that same first site as well as many other keywords over many different engines.

TIP 1: If you are planning to use a professional SEO company read this advice from Google first.

TIP 2: Its good if you can use a combination keyword phrase. For example if your main keyword phrase was "dog collars" you could use the keyword phrase "best cheap dog collars". Doing this will give the page rankings for other relevant keyword phrases without diluting your main keyword.

TIP 3: Search engines love content. "Content is King". Fill your site with relevant information.
